This article is about the Class III road numbered C48 maintained by Fife Council.

The C48 starts at the Lochgelly Junction on the A92, where it meets the end of the B9149. It heads south at first, quickly turning east along a new section of road, built with the A92. Soon it picks up the original route along some straights which run roughly parallel to the A92. After some bends at Shawsmill, the route climbs over the hill to reach the edge of Kirkcaldy. After a short multiplex with the A910, the route continues along Bennochy Road to reach the B925 in the town centre. The last few metres were once the route of the A910.
