The Carmunnock Roundabout lies on the Carmunnock Bypass to the south west of the village of Carmunnock and is the meeting point of the B759 and the B766. It is the latter which has been re-routed onto the bypass, with the B759 still passing through the village, where the two routes used to cross. Apart from the terminal junctions, and private / farm accesses, the roundabout is the only junction on the bypass. It is a simple four-arm junction, with the two routes crossing at right angles. Each arm has a single approach and exit lane, with two, unlined, circulatory lanes.
