For the junction that, up to June 2011, was numbered junction 3, see Daldowie Interchange.
For the original junction 3, see Larkhall Interchange.
Carmyle Avenue Interchange is junction 3, formerly junction 2, of the M74. It is a limited access junction with east facing slips only connecting to the A763 below. Junction 2A a short distance to the west provides full access to the motorway, and can be accessed via the A74. Both junctions on the A763 with the sliproads are signalised, and the A763 is also dualled through the junction, and indeed for some distance to the south where it crosses a railway line on two separate bridges. There are three northbound lanes under the motorway, with the right hand lane being the turning lane onto the sliproad, but only two southbound lanes.
London Road Junction
A very short distance to the north, the A763 terminates on the A74. This is a signalised crossroads with the B765 continuing north. There is just enough room for the A763 to reduce from D2 to S4 as it approaches the A74, which is also dualled and provides three westbound lanes at the lights. The B765 is a standard S2 width without any extra room for turning lanes. To the east of the junction, the A74, London Road, is lined with industrial and commercial premises, which presumably provide a substantial portion of the traffic to and from the motorway.
