This article is about the B1401 that ran west of Hull.
For the original B1401 in north Lincolnshire, see B1401 (Lincolnshire).
For the original B1401 in north Lincolnshire, see B1401 (Lincolnshire).
The second incarnation of the B1401 was created in 1930, and ran on the southern section of Pickering Road in Hull between the A63 and A1105. The road was unclassified in 1922 before becoming the A1105 on the opening of that section of Boothferry Road to the east in 1926; but being downgraded to B1401 when the remainder of Boothferry Road opened in January 1930.
Originally the A63 ran along Hessle Road to the south and the A1105 along Boothferry Road to the north but numbers were swapped in the 1940s.
Today, Pickering Road is unclassified following the rerouting of the A63 along the river in the 1980s. Hessle Road is now unclassified and Boothferry Road has got the A1105 number back.
