Coddington Interchange is a junction on the A1 Newark bypass at Beacon Hill. From 1964 until October 1990, the A17 met the A1 here, however since the opening of the six-mile £34 million A46 Newark bypass, traffic was routed from the A17 at Coddington Moor Roundabout to the Winthorpe Interchange. This has come with its own issues, as it takes all of the A17 traffic from the Lincolnshire vegetable processing industry to a much busier interchange, which is now heavily congested for much of the day, with traffic at peak hours often tailing back onto the A1.
