For the crossroads on the former N1, north of Dundalk, County Louth, see Thistle Crossroads.
Thistly Cross Roundabout is a junction on the A1 south of Dunbar, where the offline HQDC (which is a Special Road) section of the A1 ends. It is also the eastern end of the A199, which has been massively extended from its origins in Edinburgh along the older line of the A1. The fourth arm, which approaches from the south, is the B6370 which has been diverted to meet the junction, and formerly ran further east to cross the A1 at a crossroads, long since removed. A fifth arm heads north into a fruit farm / tourist attraction. The dualled A1 clearly has two approach and departure lanes on each arm, the other three arms only have single lanes. When heading east on the A1, this junction marks the end of 22 miles of uninterrupted dual carriageway from the outskirts of Edinburgh. To the east, the Dunbar bypass and A1 beyond were built earlier and therefore have several at grade junctions.
