Alconbury South Interchange marks the start of the second section (heading north) of the A1(M). It is a ½ Dumbbell interchange. It is where non-motorway traffic turns off the road at this point. It has no number, and because of this it can be thought that this junction might not be kept if the A1 gets upgraded south of here.
