For the new junction 21, see New Ellington Junction.
For Brampton Interchange, further south on the A1, see Brampton Interchange.
Brampton Hut was junction 21 of the A14.
It is named after the Brampton Hut Inn, which was situated on the original crossroads here. In later years, with the dualling of the A1, the junction became a roundabout. It was rebuilt in the early 1990s to accommodate a flyover the roundabout for the A1 as part of the construction of the A14 (known as the A1-M1 link). As part of the Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement works, this junction got removed from the A14 mainline. The A14 east of here to Spittals Interchange became part of the A141. The section west of here is a spur road which terminates at a grade separated dumbbell junction (New Ellington Junction) which only allows access to the westbound A14. Eastbound A14 access from the A1 South is handled via the Brampton Interchange, slightly further south.
