Brampton Hut was junction 21 of the A14.
It is named after the Brampton Hut Inn, which was situated on the original crossroads here. In later years, with the dualling of the A1, the junction became a roundabout. It was rebuilt in the early 1990s to accommodate a flyover the roundabout for the A1 as part of the construction of the A14 (known as the A1-M1 link).
