Wittering Junction is an at-grade turn on the A1, with southbound A1 traffic crossing the northbound carriageway to do a right-turn into Wittering.
In July 2009, a Proposed Route Announcement was issued to grade separate the junction, following public consultations in 2004 and 2005[1]. This would have involved the creation of a new overbridge to the south of the current at-grade junction, with new sliproads created on the eastern side, and the existing western access reconfigured.
As of 2021, the scheme hadn't been further progressed.
