The A951 number is understood to have been used previously for King Street in Peterhead: about 500 metres of road linking the then A952 with the A950 to the west of the town centre. It is assumed that the number became redundant in 1935 when the A952 was extended south along the former A949. It is now part of the A982.
Whereas the 1923 MoT map (to the right) shows King Street as being part of the A949. However, it is possible that this is a mapping error as there seems to be nowhere else in Peterhead that the A951 could fit.
