The B965 is a winding B-road in east Angus, which loosely follows the Lunan Water downstream.
Passing through Friockheim
The route starts at on the A933 at Friockheim Crossroads on the western edge of Friockheim and heads east through the small village, with a large new housing estate on the southern side of the road. Beyond the village, the road heads out across fields, zigzagging in an overall southeasterly direction. There are some quite sharp corners on this section. After passing through a wood the road comes to a T-junction, at which it TOTSOs right, the left turn being the second of four links across the Lunan Water. The route now heads roughly south to the tiny settlement of Chapelton where it TOTSOs again, this time turning sharp left at a crossroads. Now heading north east, the route curves gently around the hill at Kinblethmont and on to a series of straights between fields, with only a couple of roadside farms.
Although the B965 is now converging with the Lunan Water, there is always a field between the two, and they never get as close as they were at Friockheim. Presently the route reaches the A92 on the edge of Inverkeilor, where the B965 ends at a staggered crossroads, created as part of the Inverkeilor Bypass, with the B965 extended a few metres to meet the new line of the A92.
