The B9098 was a short link road in south Perthshire. It was originally unclassified but had gained its number by 1928 when it is shown on the Michelin Map. However, the route was short-lived as it ceased to exist on 16th May 1934, when it became an eastern extension of the B8062, which it remains to this day.
The route connected the A9 to the east of Auchterarder to the small town of Dunning, which in 1922 had only been connected to the A9 via the B934 which headed east towards Perth. Subsequent to the creation of the B9098, the B9141 was also created, giving an even more direct link with the A9. Today the former B9098 does not connect with the A9, which now bypasses Auchterarder without an intermediate junction.
An official document from 16-05-1934 details the following changes: The whole of this route to be renumbered as B8062.
