This article is about the former B9005 along the Aberdeenshire Coast, now the A975.

The original route of the B9005, as classified in 1922, was along the Aberdeenshire Coast north of Aberdeen. At the time it was the most easterly B road in mainland Scotland, a position now held by the nearby B9108. It started on the A92 at Foveran and headed northeast to Newburgh, where it crossed Waterside Bridge on the River Ythan. Continuing north east a mile or so inland of the coast it passed through Cruden Bay and went on to end on the A949.
The route was quickly upgraded to be the A975 before 1932, although the southern end of the road was moved to the next road south at this time, leaving the original short section at Foveran unclassified. Both ends of the A975 now terminate on the A90.
The 1922 MOT Road List defines this route as: Junction with A92 - Newburgh - Port Errol - Coldwells
