The Wulfrunian example of Leicester Square is a former junction on the north-western side of the city, where traffic to the various suburbs in the area split into a number of minor radials.
Whilst locally important and well-known amongst residents, it has never had a classified road run through the junction. It does however, have NCN81 running through the former junction.
Following redevelopment of the area to the northwest in the 1970s, the square has now been mostly removed, and is now mostly an open grassed area with New Hampton Road passing along the southern edge of the former square, and does not even look as if it was once a single junction.
