Bull Stake is the junction between the A462 and A4038 in Darlaston, ESE of Wolverhampton. It is light-controlled staggered crossroads on the edge of the town centre, where the four main routes out of the town meet - west to Wolverhampton, east to Walsall, north to Willenhall and south to Wednesbury.
Historically, the junction was a simple crossroads, but the opening of St. Lawrence Way on 23 July 1971 moved the A462, bypassing the main shopping street of King Street, changed the layout to its present staggered crossroads, initially of an uncontrolled form. However, for a period from the mid-1970s, a roundabout was installed in the location, before being later removed and replaced with the present junction.
