Tipperty Junction is the point where the B9000 meets the A90 just to the south of Tipperty village. The junction was built as part of the dualling of this section of the A90 in 2017. The new junction works in conjunction with the Rashiereive Junction for the A975 to the south, the two connected via the old A90 route through Foveran, now an extension of the B977. As such, it only has north facing slips, while the A975 only has south facing slips. The southbound offslip meets the B9000 at a simple T junction, but the northbound onslip is accessed from a roundabout on the opposite side of the A90. This also connects with the old A90 route south to Foveran. The B9000 then curves north onto the old A90 route before resuming its westerly direction.

A short distance further west, a right turn leads up to the western part of Tipperty Village, which has had its direct access to the A90 closed up, and this road built instead to maintain access. On the eastern side, the old line of the B9000 now serves as the local access road heading north to Tarty.

Old Junction

The original junction between the A90 and B9000 was a sharply skewed crossroads at Fontainebleau a little to the northwest of the roundabout. By the 1950s, the western arm of the B9000 had already been turned to meet the A90 a little to the west, and a left turn sliproad added to the eastern B9000. This sliproad seems to have subsequently become the mainline of the B9000 as it too was turned to provide better visibility at the junction, and further distance the two parts of the crossroads. By the time the junction was rebuilt, there were also central turning lanes in the A90.
