Yarm Road

The A135 is a short A-road in Stockton on Tees.

It starts at traffic lights on the A67 at Egglescliffe, only a short distance north of the River Tees. Southbound traffic here must continue ahead in the direction of Yarm. The road heads north, following the original route of the A19 for over 2 miles along Yarm Road through Eaglescliffe as far as a roundabout junction. Here, the A19 used to continue ahead - and when the A135 was inaugurated when the A19 was rerouted onto the bypass it did as well. However, an upgrade to serve an industrial estate means the road ahead is now the A1027 and the A135 turns right.

The A135 now heads east along a modern dual-carriageway route, Concorde Way, which serves the Preston Farm industrial estate, then swings northward to pass the Bowesfield industrial estate before reaching the A66 Stockton and Thornaby bypass at Bowersfield Interchange (although a better route to the A66 would have been to use the A1027). The A135 continues a short distance further, ending on the A1130 and A1305 ring road close to the western end of the Victoria Bridge in Stockton proper.
