The A1162 was a short link road through Lincoln city centre. It was originally unclassified, becoming part of the B1398 by the 1950s. It gained the A1162 number in the 1970s but this was short-lived and it was downgraded to Class II status again in the 1980s, becoming part of the B1308, which it remains.
The road started on the A15, where that road moved from Lindum Road onto Silver Street. Our road headed west along Clasketgate and quickly crossed the B1398 High Street. It then zigzagged out of the city centre, following Yarborough Road to meet the A1102, which came in from the left along The Avenue. The A1162 ended here.
