For the former B1378 in Scunthorpe, see B1378 (Scunthorpe).
The B1378 is a short B-road on the western side of Lincoln. The road was unclassified for many years but gained its number following construction of the A46 western bypass in the 1980s.
The road starts on the A1192 Tritton Road in the Boultham area of the city and heads west along the residential Skellingthorpe Road. There's a level crossing almost immediately over the Lincoln to Newark line and then the road continues through the suburbs. It's not long before the road appears rural as it passes through Hartsholme Country Park, with the road running alongside the lake, but this is brief and we quickly reach the suburb of Birchwood. The road continues straight and leaves the houses behind just before the end of the road at a roundabout on the A46 bypass. The village of Skellingthorpe lies on the far side.
