For the original B3186, a road between Cullompton and Tiverton, also in Devon, see B3186 (Cullompton - Tiverton).
The B3186 is a short B-road in south Devon connecting the village of Newton Ferrers to the classified road network. Originally unclassified, the road gained its number in 1935.
The road starts in the village centre as the unclassified Yealm Road bears left at the junction with Church Park (a private road). We continue along Yealm Road past the church and then zigzag right then left onto Parsonage Road and presently leave town. Having climbed onto a ridge we head northeastwards along the top for over a mile before bearing left and starting to descend. We enter the village of Torr and run along Ford Road to cross the River Yealm (which runs to the west of Newton Ferrers). We then start to climb Torr Hill through Yealmpton but quickly bear right into New Road, ending at a T-junction on the A379.
