The B3112 is now the eastern end of the B3139. Before the renumberings of 1935, the B3139 ran from Burnham to Wells, while the B3112 continued the trans-Somerset route from Wells to Kilmersdon, where the A366 took over.
The road started on Tor Street in Wells, which was the A371 and is now an extension of the B3139. It then crossed the Mendip Hills to meet the A362 and A366 at Ammerdown east of Kilmersdon. Along the way, the route crossed the B3135 on the top of Mendip, met the B3113 (now the end of the B3114), crossed the A37 and met the A367 at Norton Down. After leaving Wells, the only villages that were passed through were Chilcompton and Kilmersdon.
