For an earlier incarnation (now a part of the B3156), see B3155 (Wyke Regis - Westham).
After a 76-year absence, the B3155 returned to Weymouth as the part of the A353 bypassed by the Weymouth Relief Road.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A354 and heads northeast over a bridge across the Radipole Lake. It then continues east along King Street (the eastern section of which, serving the station, was at one time the B3158) to reach the clock tower on the Esplanade and traffic lights, where it is forced to turn left.
The road now continues along the sea front for some distance, with the exception (for northbound traffic) of a gyratory a few hundred yards further on around the church; the B3159 leaves at this junction. We continue past the sealife centre and skatepark before appearing to enter open country as we pass Lodmoor Country Park. Shortly afterwards we reach the southern edge of Preston where the road bears left at a mini-roundabout to head inland. The road heads northwards along Preston Road into the village centre, where it ends at a roundabout on the A353.
