The B44 is a continuation of the A13, starting at a T junction with the B35, and running south west towards Corbiere. It quickly passes a left turn for the B83, which we shall meet again, and then crosses the Corbiere Railway walk, a path from St Aubins to the western end of Jersey. The road drops a little, with a right turn running down onto the beach, and then meanders along past houses just above the shore. As it nears the end, it suddenly takes a dramatic turn, fighting its way between cliffs and a rocky outcrop to climb up past a hotel to the parking area above the scenic Corbiere lighthouse, set out on a tidal rocky isle. The route ends here, end on with the B83 which heads back in a loop. Beware, however, because traffic generally runs in the opposite direction around this loop.
