Sandbach Interchange is junction 17 of the M6, opened in 1963 and serving Sandbach and Congleton. Until 2015 the junction was a standard unsignalised diamond interchange, however heavy congestion at the junction resulted in improvements being made in 2015. The western part of the junction was converted into a small roundabout while the eastern part was signalised.
