Tebay Interchange is junction 38 of the M6. It was opened in 1970. Sandwiched in a narrow strip of land between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks, its slip roads contain cattle grids, preventing errant livestock from accessing the M6. The J38 truckstop, which also serves cars atlhough with limited parking capacity, is now operated by Tebay services and sited just off the junction. The northbound sliproad has a particualrly tight curve, and is subject to an advisory 40mph limit.
