This article is about the original B6084 to the northeast of Sheffield city centre.
For the later B6084 to the south, see B6084 (South Sheffield).
For the later B6084 to the south, see B6084 (South Sheffield).
The B608x roads all lie to the north-east of Sheffield city centre or follow routes heading in that direction, although the B6084 no longer exists.
The road started on the A61 (now A6135) Barnsley Road. It headed east along Rushby Street and Upwell Street, passing two other B608x roads en route, as well as going under the railway line and over the River Don. It ended on the A630 (now A6178), Attercliffe Common.
The road was important to begin with as part of a Sheffield northern bypass. This was taken into account early on as the road was upgraded to Class I status. It became, and remains, part of the A6102.
