The B7006 is a short link road leading into the Midlothian village of Roslin. The road was originally unclassified but had gained its number by 1932.
Penicuik Road
The route starts at a small roundabout on the A701 in Bilston and follows a straight road southeastwards across an old railway line and open fields. After crossing a summit of around 170m, it descends gently to cross the small wooded valley of the Kill Burn. On the far side, it passes between new housing estates as it climbs into Roslin on Main Street. Long terraces of old stone houses, some now home to shops and businesses, are interspersed with modern infill, albeit predominantly terraced as well. At the further end of Main Street, the route sweeps round to the right at a sharp right-hand bend. This bend forms part of the Chapel Cross crossroads; ahead is Chapel Loan which leads to the famous Rosslyn Chapel. The B7006 is now following Penicuik Road, which is mostly lined with detached and semi-detached bungalows, south west to the edge of the small town. Here it comes to an end at a junction with the B7003, which comes in from the left, having climbed out of Roslin Glen, and TOTSOs, taking on the road ahead.
