B7000 (Balmaclennan - Bogue)

The southern end of the former B7000

The B7000 was a short link road in central Kirkcudbrightshire. Originally unclassified, it gained its number in the mid 1920s, probably 1925, but had been upgraded again to become the A769 by 1932; it retained Class I status until at least the 1990s. As the B7000 number was reused on a route a little to the north west, it might be assumed that the original section would have regained its original number as an extension of the newer route. However, this was not the case, and so the route is now numbered as the B7075.

The route started on the A712 west of Balmaclennan and headed north across open country, passing no places of any size. After less than two miles of undulating terrain it crossed the Garple Burn then continued on to journey's end at a T-junction on the A702 at Trolane Bridge between Bogue and St John's Town of Dalry.
