The B101 is a very short (650-yard) road in Shoreditch just north-east of the City of London. It used to cut the corner between the A5201 Old Street (just before its junction with the A1202) and the A1200 New North Road.
But now, for cars at least, it does not even do that, as the first few yards have been paved over and can only be used by cyclists. So it now begins inconspicuously at Charles Square among a narrow grid of residential streets, and heads north along Pitfield Street towards Hoxton. When it reaches St John's Church it turns off north-west past the school along New North Road, and soon reaches the junction with East Road, bringing traffic up from the City via the A501 and A1200. And that's your lot.
Travelling south the route is even shorter; the New North Road section is one-way, so you have only a few aimless yards at the end of Pitfield Street to enjoy. There is no indication that it is a B-road anywhere along its stretch; and there seems to be no obvious reason why it should be.
