The B6315 is a semi-rural B-road in north Durham.
The road starts on the B6317 (pre-bypass A695) in Ryton and heads south out of town. It soon reaches open country before getting to the current route of the A695, which is crossed at a staggered crossroads, a short section of dual-carriageway on the A-road aiding the junction. Pedestrians can cross the A695 on a footbridge.
The B6315 continues south through the small village of Ryton Woodside to reach Greenside and a T-junction. It TOTSOs right here; the road to the left is unclassified. On leaving the village the road continues south, descending Spen Lane to cross a small valley before climbing steeply up the other side to reach the village of High Spen.
The road is mostly urban from this point on. The road goes through Hooker Gate and turns easterly, descending into the Derwent Valley. It soon reaches Rowlands Gill where it ends at a T-junction on the A694.
