The B6308 is a largely urban B-road in north County Durham.
The road starts in the village of Medomsley on the B6310, where that road has to TOTSO, and heads southwest through the village along Fines Road before reaching open country, although it does not lose the street lighting. After crossing a few fields the B6309 is met.
Originally the B6308 crossed the B6309 at an ordinary crossroads; it is now staggered but the original line of the B6308 on the far side by the pub is obvious. The B6308 continues on to go through an industrial estate on the edge of Consett and soon reaches a roundabout on the A691.
This location was the original northern end of the B6308, although it was soon extended north to Medomsley. The road now continues south along Medomsley Road into the centre of town. The B6322 is met at traffic lights before the road passes Lidl to get to another set of traffic lights. This is the original southern end of the road, on the original line of the A692. However, when that road was moved onto the present bypass in the 1990s the B6308 was extended ahead to meet it. It therefore ends a short distance further on at a roundabout.
