The B6300 is a short B-road to the south of Durham city centre.
The road starts on the A690 in Brandon and heads southeastwards along Browney Lane, soon reaching open country. Presently it bends to the left to cross over the East Coast Main Line before following the River Browney to end on the A167 (former A1). Originally the A1 crossed the ancient Sunderland Bridge over the River Wear; after that road was moved onto the current bridge the B6300 crossed the old bridge. Now the bridge carries an unclassified road but it is still open to traffic.
