Flooding on the former B795 alongside the Water of Ken

The B795 was a rural B-road in south Kirkcudbrightshire. The route was originally unclassified but gained its number in the mid 1920's, probably as early as 1924, and is depicted on the 1926 Michelin Map. By 1932, however, it had been upgraded again to be the A762, which it remains today. The route, therefore, was that of the modern A762 starting on the A711 near Tongland Bridge and heading north to meet the A75 at the High Bridge of Tarff. After a short multiplex north to Ringford, the B795 resumed, eventually dropping to the shores of Loch Ken. It then passed through New Galloway and continued north, following the west bank of the Water of Ken to meet the A713 at Allangibbon Bridge near St John's town of Dalry.
