The B5193 is an alternative route to the A565 running through Little Crosby and closer to the coast.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A565 in Great Crosby. It heads west along Islington, a relief road avoiding the village centre; its original route was slightly to the east along a line no longer obvious.
The road now turns right at a roundabout onto Little Crosby Road. It soon reaches open country although it is not far before the grounds of Crosby Hall are met. The road skirts these and enters Little Crosby, which is a small, rural-looking village although the road is traffic calmed. The road zigzags right then left to pass the church and leave the village.
The road meanders (sometimes with relatively sharp corners) across the flat coastal plain. After passing the Pheasant pub the road TOTSOs right, although the road sign unhelpfully claims that the B5193 continues ahead (this road eventually reaches Hightown). The real B5193 heads east and ends soon afterwards at traffic lights on the A565 at Lady Green, just outside Ince Blundell.
