The B5169 is an urban B-road in north Stockport.
Originally the road started on the A526 (renumbered A34 in 1935) in Didsbury. However, this first section is now part of the A5145 and so the road starts further east, in Heaton, at traffic lights on the A5145.
The road heads north through the various Heatons. After going through Heaton Moor it crosses the Stockport to Manchester line by Heaton Chapel station and then crosses the A6 and A626 in quick succession at adjacent sets of traffic lights. The road continues vaguely northeastwards along the residential Broadstone Road into Reddish. It ends here at traffic lights on the B6167.
