The B5185 is described in the 1922 Road Lists as Liverpool (Banastre Street), making finding it difficult as that road name no longer exists.
Looking at old maps solves the problem. The B5185 was a short link to the north of Liverpool city centre which ran between the B5184 Marybone and the A5038 Vauxhall Road. In the 1980s the A5053 Leeds Street (which originally had its eastern end on the A5038) was extended east to meet the A59. This new road destroyed Banastre Street thus making the B5185 number redundant.
