B5120 is the number which has been borne since 2017 (and the opening of the Dunstable northern bypass) by the downgraded southern section of the A5120.
The route begins at a signalized crossroads on the A505 (former A5) about a quarter of a mile north-west of Dunstable town centre, heading north-east along Houghton Road to reach the neighbouring small town of Houghton Regis. We pass the site of a disused quarry, hidden behind trees to our left, but otherwise there is no real gap today between the built-up areas of the two communities.
At the end of Houghton High Street we turn left at a mini-roundabout by the King's Arms public house to enter Bedford Road which takes us through Bidwell and finally out into open countryside. After intersecting the Dunstable northern bypass (today's A5) at a roundabout junction the B5120 continues its overall northerly route, passing through the village of Toddington before ending at junction 12 of the M1, from where the A5120 continues the route towards Flitwick,.
