This article is about the original A4150 in Gloucester.
For the Wolverhampton Inner Ring Road, see A4150.
For the Wolverhampton Inner Ring Road, see A4150.
The initial use of the A4150 was on the Northern section of Gloucester Ring Road as shown on the 1934 OS Ten Mile Map. The bypass had opened in two stages - Estcourt Road in 1932 and St Oswald's road in 1933.
The A4150 then appears to have switched to the section of A40 left behind in the centre of Gloucester along Westgate and Eastgate, when the Northern Ring Road was renumbered as A40.
Its short length then prevents an accurate dating of its history to be made, but it was renumbered as part of the A417 by 1946 at the latest according to the relevant OS Six Inch map. It is now an unclassified route, and partially pedestrianised.
