The A43 is a short, straight link in central Douglas, which runs along the full length of Athol Street and is one way heading south west, with parking along the left hand side. It starts on the A42, Prospect Hill, at the Isle of Man Bank, and runs along Athol Street, past the Courthouse and numerous other impressive buildings, most of which are now home to international offices. Church Street is crossed just before the half way point, and then St Georges Street turns right just before the end. Ahead is the impressive golden domed brick arch marking the entrance to the Isle of Man Steam Railway's Douglas Station. This sits on the far side of Peel Road, the A1, with the A33 kinking to the left at the staggered crossroads.
