The B74 is a horseshoe shaped road to the west of Douglas town centre. It starts at a signalised crossroads on the A45, Circular Road, and heads west along Westmoreland Road. Despite the procimity to the town centre, it feels very suburban, with two storey houses behind gardens, low rise flats, and playground along the roadside. A little further along, a large primary school and health centre buildings stand on the corner as the road turns north, although the suburban housing soon resumes. The B74 curves onto Brighton Terrace, which soon becomes Rose Mount with taller, older terraced housing. This is a narrower street, and so now one way eastbound, coming to an end at a signalised crossroads on the A42, Bucks Road, opposite the B75.
