The B6245 is a largely rural B-road in east Lancashire.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A666 in the village of Wilpshire and heads west, quickly crossing the Blackburn to Clitheroe railway line just to the south of a tunnel. The road continues through the residential streets and is still semi-urban by the time it crosses the A59 at traffic lights.
Continuing ahead into open country, the B6245 soon crosses a stream before continuing northwards and descending into the Ribble Valley. The river is reached and the road runs along the bank for a short distance with a bridge in the distance before bending sharply to the left and crossing the bridge. There is then another sharp left-hand bend and the river is followed downstream for a short distance before moving off to the right to bypass a river bend.
After crossing a stream the road enters the village of Ribchester. It bends to the right in the village centre (at a place where visibility is reduced to the effect that traffic must stop before turning, yet the junction is not a T-junction) before heading out of town along Church Street. The route runs largely straight for over a mile before starting to zigzag. It ends by the Spade Mill Reservoirs to the east of Longridge on the B6243, where that road has to TOTSO.
