The B6287 is a short link road in County Durham, running between Coundongate, 2 km east of the centre of Bishop Auckland, and the former A1 (now A167) at Ferryhill. It mostly serves local villages, as most through traffic takes the A688 (which runs parallel through Spennymoor) or the A689 instead.
At the Ferryhill end the B6287 crosses a bridge over the A167, which runs in a cutting at this point, to reach a T-junction which marks the road's original end on the A1. When the cutting was made (the road was still numbered A1 at the time) the B6287 was extended along the old Great North Road (Durham Road and Darlington Road) in both directions.
An amended OpenStreetMap trace for this route awaits uploading to the SABRE Wiki.
