The B6264 is a short link road in north Carlisle.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A7 on the north side of the Eden Bridge. Traffic from the B6264 is required to turn left onto the A7 but all other movements are permitted. The road then heads northeast along Brampton Road, apparently following the course of Hadrian's Wall but nothing of that remains visible here.
We presently enter open country and pass a caravan park before going over the M6. Shortly afterwards a roundabout is reached, where the road meets the A689 and ends.
The A689 only came into existence here comparatively recently; before then the B6264 continued ahead. It went through Low Crosby into Brampton, where it ended on the pre-bypass route of the A69. The A689 still follows this route, although the road has been improved in several places.
