|Route outline (key)|
The B6283 was a short link road to the south of Bishop Auckland.
The road started on Staindrop Road, the original line of the A688, in Tindale Crescent and headed vaguely eastwards. It crossed the River Gaunless before bearing left to enter Shildon, where it ended on the A6072 (current B6282) to the west of the village centre.
Redevelopment in the area has removed the B6283 number from the map. Most of the ex-B6283 is now numbered A6072 - but Shildon and Tindale Crescent are now both bypassed so the ends of the B6283 are unclassified.
