The B6234 runs parallel to the A679 between the outskirts of Blackburn and the town of Oswaldtwistle. It forms a local link and is not heavily used.
The road starts on the B6236 in Knuzden Brook, a suburb of Blackburn outside the administrative area, and heads east, climbing steeply along the southern edge of the built-up area before levelling out just in time to go over the M65.
After a short rural section with a 40 mph speed limit the road quickly becomes built-up again. It zigzags through the suburb of Stanhill before ending at a mini-roundabout on the B6231 by Holy Trinity Free Church in Oswaldtwistle.
