The C118 starts on the B7078 at the crossroads near Gill and drops down the hill to cross the Cander Water at Gill Bridge. It then climbs up to Tanhill, where it turns northwards and runs along the slopes to reach Stonehouse, ending on the old A71 route through the town opposite the C111.
