The C144 starts on the C131, Auldhouse Road, in the Lindsayfield area of East Kilbride, and heads south west along Shields Road. At the edge of town, the route turns right at Dikeneuk to reach the council boundary near Millhouse. The road itself continues into Eaglesham.
