C148 (South Lanarkshire)

The C148 is a funny route which presumably made a lot more sense when it was first numbered than it does now. This is largely thanks to the growth of [{East Kilbride]], which has left this route as little more than a lengthy dead-end. It starts on the C149 at Kittochside and heads south along Glen Road, before turning sharp right. A mini roundabout is soon reached, with the left turn appearing to be a spur of the C148, leading the very short distance to the roundabout on Stewartfield Way. On the right is the car park for the National Museum of Rural Life, with the mainline continuing ahead past the museum along Phillipshill Road. This leads through an old settlement, now starting to be consumed by the sprawl of the new town, and continues to meet the sliproads for the A727, with an underpass allowing full access to the main road network.
