This article is about the Class III road numbered C16 maintained by South Lanarkshire Council.

For other roads numbered C16, see C16.
The C16 starts on the B740 at the crossroads in Crawfordjohn and heads south east, dropping down to cross the Duneaton Water. It then turns south to follow the river for a while, before turning up the narrow valley of the Glentewing Burn. A steep climb leads up to the watershed of this narrow pass, before the road turns across the hillside and drops down the contours into Glengonar. The B797 is met at a sharp fork above Lettershaws, facing up the valley to Leadhills.
