The C37 starts on the A706 just north of the roundabout with the A721 at Harelaw and heads north east. At Muirhouse it doglegs to the left, before crossing the Mouse Water and climbing over the hills to cross the B7016 near Braehead. After a meander along the hillside, it drops down to cross the Dippool Water and enter Auchengray. Here there is a lengthy multiplex with the C203 through the village, before the routes split again, the C37 turning east to meet the A70 a short distance south of the council boundary at Maiden Hill.
